Cultural Associations

• Association Canadienne-Francaise de l’Alberta (French-Canadian Association of Alberta): promotes the development of Francophone (French-speaking) life and culture in Lethbridge. They host French classes, game nights, cultural celebrations and family events.
La Cite des Prairies (City of the Prairies): the building where ACFA is located and home of the French cultural community, as well as the Francophone school
• German Canadian Club: a local club that promotes German culture and friendship. Events featuring German food and live music. All are welcome, it is not necessary to be German to attend.
• Southern Alberta Ethnic Association: an organization that represents many different cultures in Lethbridge. They host cultural events with music, food and dancing, and everyone is welcome to attend. A good place to meet other newcomers.

• Buddhist: the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta (in Lethbridge) hosts Buddhism and meditation classes, yoga, and fun activities such as drumming and dance
• Christian: Lethbridge has a large number of Christian churches of many denominations. Check the Yellow Pages online directory for listings.
• Islamic: there is one Islamic centre in Lethbridge, organized by the Lethbridge Muslim Association
• Ismaili: the Ismaili Community Centre is located in south Lethbridge and can be contacted at (403) 381-9161. Information at
• Jewish: Lethbridge does not have a Jewish synagogue, but does have a messianic Jewish community with a meeting centre

• CASA: known as a home for the arts in southern Alberta, CASA offers classes in music, art and dance, special events and markets, artist workshops and art displays
• Galt Museum and Archives: learn about the history of Lethbridge and area through displays, tours, educational programs and cultural events
• Southern Alberta Art Gallery: displays and supports the work of local artists, offers tours, sales and special events. Open to the public.
